Howard Pelc

Howard Pelc of Norfolk died Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at the Norfolk Veterans Home.

Memorial services are 10:30 am Monday, July 6 at the First United Methodist Church in Columbus. Interment is in the Columbus Cemetery with Military Honors by The American Legion Hartman Post 84 Honor Guard.

Howard Pelc was born June 3, 1936 in at home on the family farm by Spencer, NE to Frank and Elsie (Blitzkie) Pelc. He grew up in rural Spencer where he attended schools. Howard joined the US Army in 1956 and served until 1958. Howard married Kay Carson on June 1, 1963 in Spencer. He lived in both Colorado and Nebraska where he drove truck and worked on building the Eisenhower tunnel. He settled in Howells for many years where he worked at the COOP in Dodge. He eventually retired to Columbus.

Howard loved fishing, hunting, and listening to the old music channels.

He is survived by:

Daughter: Kamie (Tom) Carmichael of Rapid City, SD

Son: Scott (Toni) Pelc of Columbus, NE

Son: Zack Pelc of Platte Center, NE

7 Grandchildren

1 Great Granddaughter


He is preceded in death by

Wife Kay Pelc in 2014

Son Travis Pelc
