Hildegarde &Quot;Hodgie&Quot; Odgaard

Hildegarde "Hodgie" Odgaard, age 84, of Columbus, Nebraska died Friday November 30, 2001 at her home. Services 10:30 a.m. Tuesday December 4, 2001 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Monday with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home.

Hildegarde P. "Hodgie" Odgaard was born August 23, 1917 in David City, Nebraska to John and Mary (Sabata) Theewen. She graduated from Dwight Assumption High School. On June 28, 1942 she was united in marriage to Medrick C. "Odie" Odgaard in Santa Barbara, California. The couple spent most of their lives in Columbus where they owned and operated several businesses including the Columbian Bar, Keen Korner Restaurant and Lounge, J & M Bar, and the Tip Top Bar. She retired in 1995. Hodgie was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, DAV Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a devoted wife and mother.
