Hilda Micek

Hilda Micek, 84, of Shelby died Saturday, September 14, 2002 at Beverly Health Care in Columbus. Funeral services are 10:00 am Wednesday, September 18, 2002 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in rural Bellwood. Visitation is after 5 pm Tuesday at St. Joseph Church with a vigil service at 7 pm, also at the church. Visitation will continue Wednesday morning from 9 am until service time at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Hilda L. Micek was born August 18, 1918 in Butler County, Nebraska to John and Minnie (Seidel) Poeffel. She received her education at Blue Mound Country School in Butler County. On February 24, 1941 she married Andrew Micek at St. Joseph Catholic Church in rural Bellwood. She her entire live in the Shelby area. Along with raising her family and helping on the family farm, she enjoyed gardening, crafts and baking. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Joseph Altar Society.
