Hilda T. Bollig, age 86, of Shelby, Nebraska died Sunday, September 11, 2005 at Columbus Community Hospital. Funeral Services are 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2005 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shelby with Reverend John C. Rooney officiating. Visitation is 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus. Visitation continues Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church. Graveside Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Floral Lawns Memorial Garden in North Platte, Nebraska.
Hilda T. Bollig was born February 15, 1919 in McCracken, Kansas to John A. and Veronica (Quint) Rupp. She grew up in Ellis County, Kansas. Hilda married George C. Bollig on January 11, 1937 in Lakin, Kansas. The couple lived in Columbus and North Platte before moving to Shelby in 1975. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed sewing, dancing, writing poetry, and being involved in church activities.
