Hilbert G. Hefti, 86, of Columbus died Monday, September 9, 2002 at Columbus Community Hospital. Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 12, 2002 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus with Reverend Timothy White officiating. Burial will be in the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery with military honors by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard. Visitation is 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at McKown Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. - service time Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church. A Family Prayer Service will be held 10:15 a.m. Thursday also at the church. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, Salvation Army, or Donors Choice.

Hilbert G. Hefti was born January 16, 1916 in Colfax County to Fred & Bertha (Hoessel) Hefti. Moved to Columbus in 1921 and graduated from Kramer High School in 1936. He married Mildred Nash on October 30, 1937 in Syracuse, Nebraska. From 1943 to 1946 he served as a Staff Sergeant in the US Army during WWII. He returned to Columbus where he worked as a manager for Gerhold Company and Central Sand and Gravel for 46 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Eagles Club, and a lifetime member of the VFW and Hartman Post #84 American Legion.

He is survived by:
