Henry Stanley Chohon, age 87, of Columbus, Nebraska died Wednesday January 1, 2003 at the Columbus Community Hospital. Funeral Services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday January 4, 2003 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus with Reverend Christopher Grimmond officiating. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery with military honors by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard. Visitation is 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation continues Saturday morning from 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. also at the funeral home.

Henry Stanley Chohon was born January 19, 1915 in Platte County, Nebraska to John and Mary (Jaworski) Chohon. He was raised in Platte County and served in the U.S. Army during World War II from July 1942 - November 1945 where he received 2 Battle Stars. On October 16, 1944 Henry was united in marriage to Lucille A. Steiner at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey, Nebraska. The couple lived and farmed in Merrick County until 1984 when they retired and moved to Columbus. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, Eagles Club, and the American Legion. Henry was a devoted husband and father.
