Helen Ziemba of Duncan died Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.
Helen was born January 28, 1927 on a Nance County farm to John and Anna (Czarnick) Swerczek. She grew up in Nance, Merrick and Platte Counties. She graduated from St. Stanislaus Catholic School. Helen married Bernard Ziemba on February 4, 1947. They lived and worked on the family farm near Duncan until moving into Duncan in 1970. She worked at several different jobs until retirement. Bernard died July 27, 1983. Helen was a member of St. Stanislaus Parish and St. Anns Sodality in Duncan. She loved dancing around her kitchen to polka music every morning, praying the rosary, decorating for the holidays, playing pitch, bunco and bingo. She especially loved helping her daughters and her sisters. She loved babies and being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren

Grandson: Cory (Karen) Schlesinger and their daughters Natalie & Leah of Gross Iles, Mich.
Grandson: Lucas (Shadi) Harral and their sons Adison, Kai & Shae of Laguna Niguel, CA
Grandson: Travis Harral of Costa Mesa, CA
sister: Theresa Swierczek of Omaha, NE
Several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and special friends
