Helen Torczon

Helen M. Torczon, age 77 of rural Columbus died Sunday; January 11, 2004 at the Columbus Community Hospital. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday; January 15, 2004 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Duncan. The Rev. Dave Korth will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday 4-8 p.m. at the McKown Funeral Home. A vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the McKown Funeral Home in Columbus. Visitation will continue Thursday morning 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Columbus.

Helen Marie Torczon was born April 16, 1926 in Tarnov, Nebraska to Albert A. and Victoria (Sutko) Staroscik. She graduated from Kramer High School in Columbus in 1943. She married Kenneth J. Torczon on May 8, 1952 At St. Bonaventure Church in Columbus. Helen worked for many years at Becton-Dickinson and enjoyed volunteering at various nursing homes. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, traveling and Nebraska football. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Church, St. Ann's Sodality, VFW Auxiliary, Columbus Community Hospital Auxiliary, B-D Alumni and Catholic Daughters of America.
