Helen Tiaden

July 18, 1923 — March 2, 2014

Helen Tiaden of Columbus died Sunday, March 2, 2014 at her home at Cottonwood House.

Helen was born July 18, 1923 in Stromsburg, NE to Oscar and Alma (Nelson) Jones. She grew up in Stromsburg and Osceola where she attended District #29 school. Helen married Ansel Pehrson on January 6, 1941. They had four daughters, Annette, Carol, Dianne, and Barbara. Most of her life she lived in Polk County where she was a cook at the Osceola School Cafeteria, worked at the Red and White grocery store, and wall papered in the evenings.

She later married Ronald Beebe on September 23, 1971 and after his passing she married George Tiaden on January 17, 1981 and moved to Columbus.

There are 19 Grandchildren and 20 Great Grandchildren all who she loved very much. She always had a smile on her face and a joke to tell. Helen was an avid bowler and was inducted into the Columbus Hall of Fame in 2001. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Columbus.

Brother-in-law Quentin (Elaine) Tiaden of Columbus, NE
Grandchildren: Mike (Roni) Branting, Jeff (Cindy) Branting, and Becky (Todd) Luchsinger, Shari (Roger) Luebbe, Shane (Jessica) Miley, Lisa (Squire) Johnson, Kristi (Aaron) Weaver, and Craig (Toni) Kubicek, Jennifer Neukirch and Corey Neukirch, and Stefanie (Aaron) Hraban.
20 Great Grandchildren all of whom she loved very much
