Helen M. Staniec, age 84, of Silver Creek, Nebraska died Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at her home. Funeral Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2005 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Silver Creek with Reverend Frank Jindra officiating. Visitation is 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service at St. Lawrence Church. Visitation continues Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. also at the church. Burial is in the St. Lawrence Cemetery.
Helen M. Staniec was born March 4, 1921 in Nance County, Nebraska to Joseph and Rose (Jareske) Micek. She attended grade school in Nance County. On April 9, 1949 Helen married Louis Staniec in Silver Creek, Nebraska. The couple lived in Silver Creek where Helen worked for St. Francis Hospital and the Good Samaritan Center in Osceola. She was a member of St. Lawrence Church and the Altar Society. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, and reading western books.
