Helen Shadle of Omaha, formerly of Columbus died Sunday, November 22, 2015 in Omaha.
Helen M. Shadle was born February 4, 1923 in David City, Nebraska to Peter and Marie (Voorter) Jacobs. She graduated from David City High in 1940 and St. Joseph School of Nursing in 1944. Helen served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corp during WWII. She was with the 311th Evacuation Hospital and Air Station during the liberation of the Philippines and then later assigned to the Manilla Army General Hospital. On September 12, 1946 she was united in marriage to Bon Shadle at St. Bonaventure Church. Helen worked at the St. Marys Hospital and the Columbus Community Hospital in the O.B. Department for 22 years. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Church, C.D.A., Perpetual Adoration, D.A.V. Auxiliary, American Legion and a Charter Member of the WWII Memorial in Washington, D.C.
Helen was a huge Scotus fan and had her own spot in the bleachers at Scotus games, plays, and musical events. She had a wonderful sense of humor and nothing was more important than her family and her faith.

15 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren
