Helen I. Chohon, age 98 of Columbus, died Sunday, October 22 at Brookestone Acres.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am Thursday, October 26 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. Visitation is on Wednesday from 5-7 pm at McKown Funeral Home with a 7:00 pm Vigil to follow. Visitation continues Thursday from 9:30 am until service time at St. Bonaventure. Interment is in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
Helen I. Chohon was born January 27, 1925 in Oconee, NE to William and Grace (Donaldson) Will. Helen was raised in Oconee and graduated from Genoa High School in 1942. Helen married Elmer Chohon on April 9, 1945 in Platte Center. Helen was a devoted wife and mother and worked at the grocery store in Monroe.
Helen was a member of St. Bonaventure Church, the Ladies Guild, and the St. Bon's Sewing Circle. Prior to moving to Columbus, Helen was a member of St.Joseph Church in Platte Center where she served as the Treasurer of St. Ann's.
