Hedwig Zona

Hedwig Zona of Elkhorn died Thursday, November 28, 2013 at her home in Elkhorn.

Hedwig Lillian Zona was born June 1, 1919 in St. Edward, NE to George and Sophie (Gembica) Zona. She grew up in Boone and Nance counties where she attended school. Hedwig moved to Columbus from the farm in Fullerton in the 1960s with her mother. She was employed at Becton Dickinson. After her retirement she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, and canning. Due to health issues, Hedwig moved to Elk Ridge Assisted Living in Elkhorn to be closer to family. Hedwig loved spending time with her grand nephews and nieces. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus.
