Henry "Harry" F. Heimann, 92, long-time Columbus resident, died August 24, 2015, after a brief stay at Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha.
Harry was born April 15, 1923, and raised in Lindsay, NE, the son of Frank and Gertrude (Ramaekers) Heimann. He married Cecilia Pfeifer October 2, 1946 at St. Bernard Catholic Church. They raised their family of six children and farmed just west of Columbus for 37 years. Harry worked as custodian for St. Isidores Parish and School for 25 years until retiring in 1998. Harry was a member of St. Isidores Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus and the Columbus Eagles Club. He also was a 50-year member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society at St. Bonaventure Church. He enjoyed fishing, sing-alongs, carpentry, pitching horseshoes and gardening.
Harry is survived by his wife, Cecilia, Heritage Point Community in Omaha, daughters Janet (Larry) Shriver of Pueblo, CO, JoAnn (Jim) Spurgin of Omaha, Mary (Barry) Bruns of Cheyenne, WY, Laura (Bob) Lauenroth of Crete and sons David (Tsuneko) Heimann of Okinawa and Bill (Teresa) Heimann of Hays, KS. Survivors also include a brother Ben (Ethel) Heimann of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas, 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, five brothers and one grandson.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials can be sent to St. Isidore Church stained glass fund or St. Isidore Parish.
Harry dearly loved and was loved and cherished by his family, relatives and many friends. He graciously gave of his time and energy to countless people and causes.
