Harold Dieter Bloebaum passed away early in the morning on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Pioneer Memorial Rest Home in Mullen, Nebraska.
Harold was born February 13, 1931 in a farmhouse near Clearwater, Nebraska to Herman and Erna (Kuper) Bloebaum. He grew up around the Newman Grove area. Harold served in the Navy. While serving in the Navy near Santa Barbara, CA, he met his future wife, Ruby Reardon. They were married on May 29, 1954. Harold and Ruby moved to Columbus, Nebraska where they resided until her death on July 18, 1995.
Harold spent the last three months of his life in Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home in Mullen. During this time, he was able to spend time with his younger grandchildren. Harold was known to frequently comment on how much he enjoyed being around his grandkids.
Always a hard worker, Harold was employed by Behlens Maunfacturing until the age of 80. He spent over 50 years working at Behlens. Harold was not one to sit still for very long, he went back to work at a local car wash, until medical problems forced him to retire in February of this year. Harold was also an avid gardener. He grew so many vegetables, that he often gave the excess away to anyone who would take them. Harold loved animals. They say that Dogs are a Mans Best Friend, in Harold's case this was very true.
Harold is survived by his children; Dr. Nancy Innes (Mike Galliart) of Leander, TX, Debra Daly (Paul) of Mullen, NE, Marcia Roman (Ronald) of Mullen, NE, Michael Bloebaum (Tammy) of Florissant, MO. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and 2 stepgrandsons: Katherine Innes of Round Rock, TX, William Innes of Leander, TX, Alexander Innes, Austin, TX, Cassidy Daly of Lincoln, NE, Skyelar, Breanna and Madilyn Daly, Ethan Pohlmeier, Isaac and Keragan Welch, Langston and Mia Roman of Mullen NE, Anthony Roman of Clarksville, TN, Austin Roman, Greenville, FL. Harold is survived by his sister, Margaret Andersen of Omaha, NE as well many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his dog, Buddy.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Bloebaum, parents, Herman and Erna Bloebaum and brothers Alfred and Siegfred Bloebaum.
Harold's family would like to thank Bob and Rayetta Williams, his neighbors and friends of over 40 years for their love and assistance. Also to Pioneer Memorial Rest Home in Mullen for keeping him comfortable in the last months of his life.
