Gloria died Thursday, February 16, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Gloria Jean (Tichota) Wemhoff was born at home in rural Cuming County, Nebraska to Ruth (Bauman) and Bohumila (Bo) Tichota on May 25th, 1943. She attended grade school at District 61 in Schuyler, Nebraska and attended Clarkson High School where she graduated in 1961. After graduating from high school, she worked at the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service. In 1963 Gloria took a trip to Corpus Christi, Texas. She loved the beach and decided to stay. She lived there for three and a half years before moving back to Nebraska in 1966. She began working at Becton Dickinson and remained there for 31 years. In 1971, Gloria met Carrol P. Wemhoff, and they married in 1973 at Saint Isidores Church. They lived in Columbus, Nebraska where they raised their eight children. Gloria was full of life! She loved bowling, dancing, cooking, and traveling, and encouraged all to do the same. She had a love and passion for people accompanied by a great sense of humor. Gloria always wanted a large family and loved being a mom. When her kids were younger you would find her attending their various athletic events. In recent years, she enjoyed following Husker football, volleyball and basketball as well as cheering for Duke during basketball season. Gloria left a legacy of love, family, and laughter.
Gloria cherished her family and spent as much time with them as possible.
She is survived by her husband Carrol; eight children, Scott of Utica, NE; Theresa Steckel (Bob) of Edmond, OK; Wayne of Columbus, NE; Lisa Dohring (Marcus) of Franklin, TN; Rhea Berglund (Kelly) of Austin, Texas; Amy Wemhoff-Linder (Dan) of Corpus Christi, TX; Jeff (Heather) of Kearney, NE; and Sandra of Omaha, NE; 16 grandchildren Tayla, Logan, Karson, Delaney, Maximilian, Lily, Lydia, Rollie, Rylan, Elias, Bela, Madalyn, Aubrey, Drexler, Lucas and Sebastian, born February 16th, 2017.

Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Bo; one brother, Clifford; a grandson Wyatt Jackson, her very special Aunt Millie, and her partner in crime Norma Kretz-Hahn.
