Glen died Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at his home.
Glen R. Horalek was born September 2, 1941 in Columbus, Nebraska to William and Irma (Gruntorad) Horalek. He grew up in Schuyler and graduated from Schuyler High School in 1959. He then attended UNL for 1 year. Glen worked for Behlen Manufacturing for 6 years and then for Becton-Dickinson for 36 years until retiring in 2003. During his retirement he kept busy with various jobs which including greeting at WalMart and security at Becton-Dickinson for 6 years. On April 9, 1993 he was united in marriage to Jane Fricke in Schuyler. Glen was a member of St. Anthony Church, B.D. Alumni and a life member of Weight Watchers for 4 years. He enjoyed gardening, was an avid Husker football and volleyball fan, watching his grandchildrens sporting events and dining out with his wife. Glen enjoyed traveling with his wife to Branson and bus trips throughout the U.S. He was a history buff, a firm believer in education and strong in his faith. Glen had a heart of gold and would lend a hand to anybody, even a stranger. He was a faithful friend to all.
