Gerald Micek of Columbus died Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at Brookestone Acres in Columbus
Gerald Micek was born November 15, 1933 in Genoa, NE to Charles and Bernice (Shemek) Micek. He grew up on the farm NE of Genoa and graduated from Genoa High School. Gerald entered the US Army where he served from 1955-1957. He returned to Platte County and was united in marriage to Lois Haschke on November 20, 1957 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey. Gerald farmed between Genoa and Monroe. Church was big part of Geralds life. He also loved spending time with family and being outdoors on the land. After retiring from the farm, Gerald and Lois moved to Columbus where he was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, participated in Perpetual Adoration, and the Knights of Columbus.
