George Strong

George Loyd Strong of Monroe died Monday, February 16, 2009 at his home in Monroe.

George Loyd Strong was born April 29, 1956 in Norfolk to George and Betty (Dearwester) Strong, Sr. He grew up and attended schools in the eastern part of Nebraska. George served the US Army before receiving a medical discharge. He returned to Nebraska where he worked as a self employed mechanic. George married Brenda Widick in Lincoln on October 5, 1984. They moved to Texas where he continued to work as a mechanic. They lived there for 10 years before returning to Monroe where he has lived since. George was known as "Crazy George" by his friends and family. He enjoyed building models, playing pool, and working on cars.
