George Beard of Columbus died Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Brookestone Acres in Columbus.
George Kenneth Beard was born May 25, 1925 in New Site, Mississippi to Eddie F. and Lula (Isbell) Beard. He attended schools in Iuka, MS until enlisting in the Army Air Corp in 1943. George was united in marriage to Anna Marie Greisen on March 2, 1946 in Omaha. George was discharged in 1953 then re-enlisted in to the US Navy in 1956 and served until 1966. George worked for D & L for 21 years until retiring in 1988. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. George enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking.
He is survived by:

Son: Robert Beard of Lafayette, CO
Son: Douglas Beard of Columbus, NE
Grandson: Justin, Brian, Brandon Beard
Great Grandsons: Braedon, Chase, Trevor, and Atticus Beard
Great Granddaughters: Brie and Alina Beard
