Raymond "Gene" Heule, age 82 of Columbus
There will be a Celebration of Gene's Life on Wednesday, January 22 at 1:30 pm at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus. The family will receive friends on Tuesday January 21 from 4-7 pm at McKown Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in All Saints Cemetery with Military Honors by The American Legion Hartman Post #84 Honor Guard.
Raymond Heule was born January 16, 1943 in Fullerton, NE to Raymond and Marjorie (Kuhn) Heule. He grew up in Clarks and graduated from Clarks High School in 1961. Gene served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Gene started Gene's Lawn and Tree Service when he was 25 and worked until his passing. Gene married Joan Stromberg to which one son John was born and later married Marilyn "Suzy" Recek and added another son Tyler.
Gene loved Husker Football, fishing, working, and attending his grandchildren's activities. He served as a volunteer fireman where he served as Chief for several years.
