Born January 26, 1947, in Columbus to Edward and Delila Mueller, Gayle lived a full and faithful life rooted in family, farming, and fun.

He proudly took over the family farm in Oconee and served his community through years on the Oconee Township board, District #24 and #25 Lakeview School Boards, the Platte County Ag Society, and as a lifelong member of St. Luke's Church. He never just showed up—he showed up with a purpose, usually wearing a grin and cracking a joke.

Gayle was the kind of guy everyone loved to be around. He didn't take life too seriously, unless the Huskers were playing—then it was game on. He was the life of every get-together, usually found telling stories, smoking meat, or sneaking treats to the grandkids. He lived by three simple rules: work hard, party hard, and keep your faith in God.

He was prceeded in death by his mother & father, brothers Donald & Lloyd, & father in law Edward Borchers.

He is survived by wife, DeAnne, and his six kids: Jennifer Merwick (Mike), Josi Jendro (Brett), Sara Mueller, Eddie Mueller, Beth Vazquez (Manny), and Jessi Conroy (Dan). He was "Grandpa Gayle" to 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren—each of whom knew they were his favorite.

Also surviving are his brothers Willie (Marlene) Mueller and Larry (Marcia) Mueller, sister in law Darlene, sister in law Gloria (Lynn) Broxterman, and his dear mother-in-law Ruth Borchers.

Gayle loved Nebraska football, gardening, long road trips to visit family, and sharing laughs with friends over a cold drink. If you needed a helping hand, he was there—no questions asked, just ready to lend a shovel, a truck, or a word of encouragement.
