Gay Harriman, age 71, of Columbus, Nebraska died Thursday November 8, 2001 at the Columbus Community Hospital. Funeral Services are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday November 13, 2001 at the Bible Baptist Church in Columbus with Pastor Robert Walker officiating. Burial will be in the Roselawn Cemetery in Columbus. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Monday and from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Tuesday at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at the Bible Baptist Church from 1:00 p.m. until service time.

Luetta Gay (Armstrong) Harriman was born February 8, 1930 in Brunswick, Ne. to Frank and Luella (Keetle) Armstrong. She attended grade school at District 78 and graduated from Brunswick High School with the class of 1947. On October 25, 1947 she married Bernard Harriman of Clearwater, NE. They were married at Long Pine. They worked for the Chicago-Northwestern Railroad for 9 years.. In 1957 they moved to Columbus where they have resided since. Gay managed the lunch counter at Tooley Drug for 15 years and became acquainted with many people. Gay was faithful in her Christian beliefs and was always willing to help wherever she could. She taught Sunday School for 30 years and has been a member of the Bible Baptist Church since 1957. She enjoyed gardening and painting. In 1961 her mother came to live with her where she made her home for 36 years.
