Gary Puckett

Gary Puckett, 88,  of Columbus, died Saturday, April 20, 2024 at his home in Columbus surrounded by his family.

Funeral service is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the Federated Church in Columbus. Visitation is 3-5 p.m. Friday at McKown Funeral Home.

Gary was born November 13, 1935 in Smith Center, KS to Doris "DP" and Marie (Schenk) Puckett. Gary received his education from Franklin High School. Gary enlisted in the Air Force in 1954 and served as a 1s Class Airman until he was discharged in 1962.  He was married to Maureen "Ann" Patrick on September 13, 1963. Prior to moving to Columbus Gary lived in Franklin, NE for 20 years, and Fort Walton Beach, Florida.  In 1990 Gary retired from the U.S. Columbus Post Office after a 26 year career. After retiring he worked numerous jobs including KC Auto, Hudson Foods, and security jobs. He was a volunteer for the Columbus Community Hospital for 10 years. He was an active member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, VFW, American Legion, and member of the Federated Church. He enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino and visiting with his friends

Grandchildren- Tina Moseley, Tony Michener, Kelsey Porter, Eric Puckett, Matthew Puckett, Ethan Atkins, Sydney Atkins, Paige Atkins, Brady Ligenza
Great grandchildren- McKenzi, Zackary, Greyson, Kaylee, Monroe, Millie
Sister- JoAnn Crammer
