Gary Kirkpatrick

Gary Kirkpatrick, age 67,of Columbus, died Monday, July, 8, 2013 at the Cottonwood House in Columbus.

Gary Lee Kirkpatrick, the son of Ralph H. and Fern A. (Cross) Kirkpatrick, was born July 9, 1945 at Burlington, Iowa. He grew up in Burlington and graduated from Burlington High School in 1963. Gary attended Western Iowa University. He served in the Iowa National Guard from August 1965 until August 1978. He lived in Burlington, Omaha, NE, Bettendorf, IA, Lexington, KY, Chicago, IL and Columbus, NE. Gary was employed in sales and management with Georgia Pacific, Tenneco, Garretson Equipment and most recently Westendorf Manufacturing. Gary enjoyed hunting and fishing, competitive rodeo, horse showing, water sports and competitive shooting. He was an honorary member of Boys Town. Gary was a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus and a member of St. Bonaventure Church. Memorials are suggested to Columbus Community Hospital Hospice Program.
