Gary Lynn Carson, a beloved family man and spirited individual, passed away peacefully on November 27th in Genoa, Nebraska with family by his side. His life was a testament to the love and joy he shared with those around him.
Gary was bom June 26th 1944 in Fort Collins, Colorado. He attended St. Francis school in Kansas. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the Army reserves. While enlisted he married Janis Havel in 1964. He enjoyed his career as a salesman for Moorman Feeds, being a meat cutter at Super Saver, and a sales Stocker for Walmart. He took pride in his work & had a zest for life that was evident in everything that he did.
Throughout his life, Gary enjoyed people, even the simplest conversation with a stranger delighted him to his core. Gary had a unique ability to make people laugh, feel valued and appreciated, and his infectious laughter and positive outlook on life were a source of inspiration to many. Gary demonstrated an unwavering commitment to his loved ones, creating a legacy of love and devotion that will be remembered for generations.
Gary and Jan shared 3 children together, Vicki (Jon) Stopak, Pam (Andy) Hiemer, Monty (Dawn) Carson. His family was his pride and joy. He enjoyed spending time with them, whether it was during family gatherings or simple everyday moments.
He leaves behind his wife Janis, whom he adored and was married to for 60 wonderful years. He was proud to have her by his side all these years and loved her more than anything. Gary is also survived by his brother Glenn (Anita) Carson, and Sister-in-Law Phyllis Carson,
Gary cherished his 7 Grand-children Chantell (Justin) Groteluschen, Cody (TeriLee) Stopak, Chad Stopak, Justin (Maria) Hiemer, Jason (Valerie) Hiemer, Ashly (Dominic) Gavito, and Lacy Carson.
He took immense pleasure in spending time with his 10 Great Grand-children Chase, Justice, Ellie, Brooks, Emma, Keiren, Carson, Kate, Jane, and baby Amelia on the way. He enjoyed many years of coaching baseball and often could be found cheering on the great grandkids for their various sporting events. Gary's warmth and sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone he met, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Gary fought hard against dementia in the last several years of his life. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his memory will remain a guiding light for those fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love he so generously gave to others.
Preceded in death by his parents Harry and Agnes Carson, his brothers- Norvin and Eddie Carson, Sisters-Marilyn (Jim) Flick, Clara (Russell) Musselman and Viola (David) Brock.
The community is welcome to the Visitation on Friday November 29* at St. Stanislaus Duncan, NE from 3pm- 5pm. (Rosary to immediately follow) Funeral services will be Saturday November 30th @ 10:00 AM at St. Stanislaus Church with a luncheon to follow. Burial will be at a later date.
