Gary died Thursday, September 22, 2011 in Phoenix, Arizona.
Gary D. Boettcher was born May 12, 1940 in Madison, Nebraska to Waldemar B. and Almyra J. (Reeves) Boettcher. He graduated from Newman Grove H.S. in 1957 and served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam from 1958 - 1961. On October 27, 1962 Gary was united in marriage to Kathleen A. Stenger at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindsay. The couple lived in Omaha where he worked at Armour & Company. In 1964 they moved to southern California where he worked for Hunts Food. In 1967 they moved to the San Jose, California area where he worked for Westinghouse and Ampex Corp. in 1986 Gary was transferred to Colorado Springs where he continued to work for Ampex for 6 more years. He then went to work for MCI until retiring in 2000. Following retirement, the couple enjoyed traveling the U.S. in their RV. The highlight of their travels was the summer they spent in Alaska. Gary was a member of the Knights Of Columbus in California and the Hartman Post #84 American Legion in Columbus. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, NASCAR, Husker Football and spending time with his children & grandchildren.
