Gale Gronenthal

Gale Gronenthal of Duncan Lakes died Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am Monday at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. Family will receive friends from 2-4 pm Sunday with a Vigil service to follow at 4:00 pm, all at McKown Funeral Home. Burial is in Roselawn Cemetery.

Gale Gronenthal was born February 1, 1947, in Platte Center, NE to Ray and Frances (Ripp) Gronenthal. He grew up in Platte Center and Columbus and graduated from St. Bonaventure High School in 1965. Gale worked in HVAC business for Metal Crafters and Beard-Warren. Gale married Pamela Odgaard-Saalfeld on February 14, 2002, in Las Vegas.

Gale loved his life at Duncan Lakes. Boating, visiting with friends, summer holidays, working in his shop, and loved having friends over to visit.

Son: Steven (Kim Brown) Gronenthal of Lincoln
Grandchildren Kierra Rae, Logan, Kelsey, Anthony, and Bailey
Step-Daughter: Julie Saalfeld of Grand Island
Grandsons: Cooper Lee and Layton Lee
