Fritz died Saturday, February 12, 2011 at the Columbus Community Hospital.

Fritz J. Hoffman was born January 8, 1929 in Omaha, Nebraska to Fred Hoffman and Myrtle Nissen. He attended school in Fremont, Nebraska. In 1946, at age 17, he entered the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1949. Fritz drove truck for 43 years logging over 4 million miles. On June 16, 1950 Fritz married Joan Folk in Fremont. Prior to moving to Columbus in 2000, the couple traveled in their motor home and lived in North Bend, Nebraska for 20 years. He was a member of St. Isidore Church, V.F.W. and the Eagles Club.

He is survived by:

Daughter: Kim (Jerry) Dvorak of Stuart, NE
Daughter: Deb (Richard) Hamling of Columbus, NE
Son: Doug (Wanda) Hoffman of Fruita, CO
Son: Rick Hoffman of Honolulu, HI
Brother: Dean Hoffman of Valley, NE
Seven Grandchildren
Five Great Grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents and several half-brothers and sisters.
