Fred Hladik died Sunday, July 2, 2017 at the Columbus Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Fred L. Hladik was born December 27, 1925 in Valparaiso, Nebraska to John and Agnes (Bouc) Hladik. He served in the United States Army in the European Theater during World War II from April 1944 through April 1946 where he received the Bronze Star. On October 28, 1946, he married Gladys Kudlacek at St. Lukes Catholic Church in Loma, Nebraska. The couple celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in 2016. They farmed before going into the restaurant and bar business. He was a bar manager at the V.F.W. Club and the Elks Club. He was a life member of the V.F.W. and a 45 year member of the American Legion.
