Frank Stachura

Frank E. Stachura, 69, of Columbus died Wednesday August 29, 2001 at Columbus Community Hospital. Funeral services are 9:30 am on Saturday September 1 at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Columbus. Visitation will be on Friday after 3 pm at McKown Funeral Home with a vigil service at 7:30 pm at the funeral home. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 8-9 am at McKown Funeral Home. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery with Military Honors by Hartman Post # 84 American Legion Honor Guard. A lunch will follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall.

Frank Emanuel Stachura was born April 4, 1932 on the family farm near Duncan, Nebraska to Emanuel and Caroline (Sock) Stachura. He married Julia E. Yrkoski on September 22, 1954 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church-Krakow. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War serving in the Military Police. He worked in shoe sales and repair for 25 years. He later worked in school maintenance at Platte College and Scotus High School until retiring. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #3704 and St. Isidore Catholic Church. Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing, World War II history, traveling and wintering in Texas.
