Frank Otto Bosak, 87, of Dorchester died Sunday March 3, 2002 at his home. Funeral services are 10:30 am Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Dorchester. Visitation will begin on Tuesday at 10:00 am at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete. Visitation will continue on Wednesday beginning one hour prior to service time at the church. Interment will be in the Dorchester Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Elizabeth Home Care Services, Dorchester United Methodist Church, or donor's choice.
Frank Otto Bosak was born on June 8, 1914 southeast of Pleasant Hill to Frank and Anna (Krejci) Bosak, the youngest of three sons. He attended Evergreen District # 25 school and later, Crete High School. On December 28, 1936, he was united in marriage to Clara Ella Taborek. Two children were born to this marriage, Betty and Larry. Frank and Clara farmed near Wilber for a couple years and later Frank worked at the Crete Mills. During WWII they made their home in Lincoln where he worked in the Stop Nut Factory. In July 1945 they moved to Dorchester and Frank began a long career at the Dorchester Farmers Coop Elevator. On January 1, 1948, he became the general manager, a position he held for thirty years. Under his management, the elevator began to prosper and grow. He retired in 1976.
Frank was a member of the Dorchester United Methodist Church for over fifty years. He also served as a town board member and was a volunteer firemen. He was a quality woodworker of which his family and friends have many wonderful treasures. Frank and Clara enjoyed fishing and traveling and made many trips to Ten Mile Lake, MN with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Clara, daughter Betty (John) Potter of Dorchester, son Larry (Jean) Bosak of Columbus, grandchildren Carey, Jack, and Tiphanie Potter of Lincoln, Jenny, Amy, and Stacey Bosak of Omaha, great-grandchildren Joe and Kate Potter, special niece Alvina Remmers and family, special nephew Alvin and Charlene Kalkwarf and family, sisters-in-law Helen Bosak, Bernice Bosak and Donna Taborek, several nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert and Rudolph.
