Francis J. Hennessy

Francis died Sunday, November 22, 2009 at the Columbus Community Hospital.

Francis James Hennessy was born March 12, 1927 on the family farm near Platte Center, Nebraska to James P. and Margaret (Gleeson) Hennessy. He graduated from Platte Center High School in 1945. On June 12, 1951 he was united in marriage to Madeleine "Pat" Klassen at St. Bernard Catholic Church near Lindsay, Nebraska. Francis was a farmer, electrician and maintained the Lost Creek Township from 1958 until retiring in 1997. He lived his entire life on the family farm his grandparents established when they moved from Ireland in 1868. Francis was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, church usher, Knights of Columbus where he served as Grand Knight and was past president of the board of education for Platte Center High School. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his grandchildren.

Daughter: Lisa Bender and husband Todd of Humphrey, NE
Son: Dale Hennessy and wife Julie of Stromsburg, NE
Eighteen Grandchildren
Four Great Grandchildren
