Frances K. O'Connor, age 86, of Columbus, Nebraska died Friday, December 8, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska. Funeral Services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2006 at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Columbus with Reverend Joseph A. Miksch officiating. Visitation is 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday with an 8:00 p.m. Vigil Service at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation continues Saturday morning from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. also at the funeral home. Burial is in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Columbus.
Frances K. O'Connor was born September 30, 1920 in Columbus, Nebraska to Peter P. and Rose M. (Siemek) Mimick. She attended school in Columbus. Frances married Albert X. O'Connor March 10, 1945 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Cathedral in Concordia, Kansas. The couple lived in Thompsonville, Connecticut until moving back to Columbus in 1946. Frances worked at Dale Electronics, Beneficial Tax Services and co-owned and managed A Affordable Travel and Tax Service until retiring in 1999. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, past president of the V.F.W. #3704 Auxiliary, past president of the Navy Mothers and was an Admiral in the Nebraska Navy.
