Florence Zwiener, age 94, of Columbus died Friday, December 23, 2005 at Beverly Health Care in Columbus. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, rural Bellwood. The Rev. Jeremy Hazuka will officiate. Visitation is 3-7 p.m. Monday with a 7:00 p.m. vigil all at the McKown Funeral Home in Columbus. Visitation will continue Tuesday morning 8:00- 9:45 a.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
Florence Zwiener was born November 20, 1911 in Columbus to Fred and Emma (Blaser) Oppliger. She grew up in Columbus and graduated from Columbus schools in 1929. She married Frederick "Fritz" Zwiener on January 9, 1936 in Columbus. Florence was a homemaker on the farm. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and playing cards.
