Florence Micek died Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Columbus Community Hospital in Columbus, Nebraska.

Florence Mary Micek, the daughter of Joseph and Stella (Berzenski) Small, was born August 1, 1928 at Clarks, Nebraska. She graduated from Genoa High School in 1946. She married Alois Micek on September 11, 1951 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Genoa. They lived and farmed in Platte County. Florence was a homemaker and worked part time at the Columbus Telegram for 10 years. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and St. Anns Sodality. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening and spending time with her birthday/coffee group and wintering in Laughlin, Nevada.
