Florence Kresha

Florence L. Kresha, 57, of Columbus, died Friday, July 19, 2002, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City. Services are at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2002, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus with Rev. Christopher Grimmond officiating. Burial is at the St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Columbus. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Tuesday at McKown Funeral Home & after 6:00 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil service. Visitation continues on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Florence L. Kresha was born February 17, 1945, in Genoa to Peter & Helen (Starostka) Kula. She grew up in Silver Creek and graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1963. Following high school she worked for Becton-Dickinson in Columbus. On May 4, 1968, she married Edwin Kresha at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Silver Creek. They moved to Columbus where she became a homemaker. After her husbands death in 1975, she worked in the Scotus Cafeteria and was later employed at Wal-Mart.

She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church where she enjoyed doing volunteer church work, served as an EME, past president and secretary of St. Theresa Sodality, perpetual adoration, and was involved in the St. Isidore Youth Group. She was a cub scout leader and den mother, member of the Scotus Mothers Club, and the National School Food Service Association. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, baking, gardening, and visiting her children and granddaughter.
