Felicia Swett

May 19, 1938 — October 5, 2025

Felicia Swett, 87, of Genoa, Nebraska, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025, peacefully surrounded by the love of her family.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 AM Thursday, October 9, 2025, at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Columbus. Visitation is 4:00-6:00 p.m. Wednesday with a 6:00 PM vigil service at McKown Funeral Home.

Born on May 19, 1938, in Spalding, Nebraska, Felicia lived a vibrant and full life. She began her career as a schoolteacher, sharing her knowledge and compassion with young minds. Later, she explored various other paths, eventually finding her niche in appliance sales, where her spark and charm made her unforgettable to customers and coworkers alike.

On June 9, 1958, Felicia married Bert Swett, and together they built a life filled with hard work, family, and plenty of lively moments along the way. They raised their four children — Jamie, Teresa, Joe, and Terry — in St. Edward, Nebraska, before later moving to the Schuyler and Columbus communities.

Felicia was known for her unmistakable hair, quick wit, and her spunky, spirited personality. She had a deep love for her grandchildren and never missed a chance to support, spoil, or laugh with them. Her family was her world, and she brought joy, humor, and a little sass to every gathering.

She would want us to remember her with stories, laughter, and maybe a few light-hearted jokes — not just with sadness, but with gratitude for having known her. That was Felicia: bold, loving, and never one to leave quietly.

She is survived by her children, Jamie (Kathy) Swett, Teresa Swett, and Terry (Geri) Swett; her siblings, Don (Paula) McManaman, Teresa Bremer, and Jeanne (Don) Peers; and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored her.

Felicia is preceded in death by her husband, Bert Swett; her son, Joe Swett; and her parents.

Felicia leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strong coffee. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
