F. Marie Hobbensiefken, 85, of Monroe died Sunday, June 6, 2004 at Columbus Community Hospital. Services are 1:30 pm Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at the United Methodist Church in Monroe. Burial is in the New Hope Cemetery at Okay Church in rural Monroe. Visitation is on Tuesday from 5-7 pm at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus.
F. Marie Hobbensiefken was born March 19, 1919 in Shipman, Mississippi to Pere and Adewell (Waltman) Williams. She received her education in Petal, Mississippi graduating in 1937. She worked for the Forest County Health Department for 7 years and was a factory worker for 2 years. She married Fred Hobbensiefken on April 27, 1945 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She moved to California where she worked for US Rubber Company. She moved to Platte Center in 1949, later moving to Des Moines where she attended cosmetology school. She lived in various places until returning to Nebraska in 1983. She enjoyed sewing and gardening.
She is survived by a son; Eugene Hobbensiefken of Monroe, a daughter; Marsha (Tom) Stacy of Denver, Colorado, two grandchildren; Tom Stacy, Jr., & Jeff Stacy, and one great-granddaughter Arianna Stacy.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one brother Benard Williams.
