Everet Barber

Everet V. Barber, age 92, of Platte Center, Nebraska died Tuesday September 21, 2004 at the Columbus Community Hospital. Funeral Services are 2:00 p.m. Thursday September 23, 2004 at the First Baptist Church in Columbus with the Reverend Larry Adams officiating. Burial will be in the Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation is 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at McKown Funeral Home and 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Everet V. Barber was born June 30, 1912 in Ticonic, Iowa, near Mapleton, Iowa to Ernest & Anna (Jividen) Barber. He graduated from Mapleton High School. He married Clara Ruth Junk on May 19, 1939 in Mapleton. The couple lived in Mapleton & Los Angeles before moving to Platte Center in the 1950's. Everet was an Electronics Technician for HABCO in Platte Center, NPPD, and then retired from Behlen Mfg. in 1981. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Columbus.
