Evelyn M. Tylle, age 92, of Columbus died Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at the Columbus Community Hospital.

Evelyn was born September 15, 1921 in Genoa, Nebraska to John and Gertrude (Mitera) Syslo. She attended school in Cedar Rapids, Central High in Omaha and graduated from Kramer High School in 1939. She was united in marriage to William Tylle on February 24, 1940 at St. Bonaventure Church. She was employed at Becton-Dickinson for 31 years. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church where she served as a lector and EME. She was a member of the Catholic Daughter of America for 56 years, St. Theresa Sodality, Perpetual Adoration and B-D Alumni Association. She enjoyed her volunteer work at Morys Haven and Simon House. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were a special joy to her. Evelyn especially liked gardening, canning and dancing

Evelyn is survived by:
daughter: Judy Melcher of Columbus
4 grandchildren: Scott Melcher of Oakland, CA; Christine (Rob) Donnelly of Raleigh, NC;, and Marin (Greg) Hacker of Lincoln, NE; Karleen Crowe of Boise, ID
5 great grandchildren: Adrianna Crowe, Chloe Crowe, Hayden Hacker, Sophia Hacker, Reece Hacker

She was preceded in death by:
parents: John & Gertrude Syslo
son: Jim Tylle
brothers: John Jr., Raymond and Clarence Syslo
granddaughter: Susan Tylle
