Evelyn Liss, age 94, of Columbus, died Monday, July 27, 2026 at Brookestone of David City.

Private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Isidore Catholic Church. Interment is in St.Bonaventure Catholic Cemetery.

Evelyn Liss was born February 27, 1932 in Osceola, Nebraska to Leo and Agnes (Gembica) Koziol. She grew up in a family farm in Nance county. Evelyn married Ray Liss on May 20, 1953 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Fullerton. Alongside raising her family, they lived in Columbus where they owned and operated Ray's Bar. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church. Evelyn enjoyed gardening, playing cards- particularly pitch, cooking and spending time with her family.

Son: Dale (Janet) Liss of Columbus, NE

Daughter: Denise (Rock) Tarnick of Omaha, NE

13 Grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by:

Parents- Leo and Agnes Liss

Husband- Ray Liss

Daughter- Debbie Dubas

Son: Duane Liss

Brothers- Benny, Frank, Clifford, Thomas, Edward, and baby Leo

Sisters- Cecilia Cheshier, Christine Haberer, Elenor Santin, and Monica Roark,
