Evelyn Liss, age 94, of Columbus, died Monday, July 27, 2026, at Brookestone of David City.

Private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Isidore Catholic Church. Interment is in St. Bonaventure Catholic Cemetery.

Evelyn Liss was born February 27, 1932, in Osceola, Nebraska to Leo and Agnes (Gembica) Koziol. She grew up in a family farm in Nance County. Evelyn married Ray Liss on May 20, 1953, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Fullerton. Alongside raising her family, they lived in Columbus where they owned and operated Ray's Bar. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church. Evelyn enjoyed gardening, playing cards- particularly pitch, cooking and spending time with her family.

Daughter: Diane (Bob) Will of Columbus, NE

Son: Dale (Janet) Liss of Columbus, NE

Daughter: Denise (Rock) Tarnick of Omaha, NE

13 Grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by:

Brothers- Benny, Frank, Clifford, Thomas, Edward, and baby Leo
