Evelyn Birkel

Evelyn died Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Society in Ravenna, Nebraska.

Evelyn Birkel was born September 3, 1933 in Brainard, Nebraska to Frank and Julia (Weverka) Kucera. She moved to David City, Nebraska when she was in grade school and graduated from David City High School. Evelyn went to work for the telephone company in David City after high school. On May 24, 1955 she was united in marriage to William Dean Birkel in David City. The couple lived in Butler County until 1963 when they moved to Columbus. Evelyn worked for General Telephone in Columbus until retirement. Following retirement she enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling. Evelyn took great pride in her cooking and she also loved playing cards with her grandchildren. Following the death of her husband in May of 2014 she moved to the Good Samaritan Society in Kearney and then to Ravenna where she received wonderful care at both facilities. Evelyn was a member of St. Bonaventure Church in Columbus.

7 Great Grandchildren: Lezlee, Wyatt, Quentin, Aurora, Weston, Owen and William
