Eva Modlin

Eva M. Modlin, 90, of Columbus died Monday, March 13, 2006 at Columbus Community Hospital. Services are 11:00 am Thursday, March 16 at the First United Methodist Church in Columbus with the Rev. Bev Hieb officiating. Visitation is on Wednesday from 3-7 pm at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation continues Thursday morning from 10 am until service time at the church. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Thursday at the David City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church.

Eva M. Modlin was born July 10, 1915 on the farm by Rising City to James and Myrtie (From) Barlean. She grew up on the family farm and went to schools in David City. She married Merle Duane Modlin on April 12, 1936. She moved to Columbus in 1960. Eva worked for Dale Electronics for 24 years. She retired in 1980. Eva has sold Avon products since 1985. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Columbus, Solitares, and the Dale Alumni Association. She loved gardening and flowers.
