Eugene Miller, age 91, of Columbus, died Sunday, March 2, 2014 in Columbus.
Eugene H. Miller was born July 30, 1922 in Shelby, Nebraska to Fred and Marie (Kruse) Miller. He grew up in Shelby and graduated from Kramer High School in Columbus. He served in the United States Army during WWII from 1943-1946. He was a private first class with the U.S. Army Gas Supply Company stationed in New Guinea. Gene received various medals and accommodations. He married Burdette Sidel on September 18, 1951 at St. Augustines Church in Schuyler, Nebraska. After the service he worked at the alfalfa mill, Behlen Manufacturing, and was self-employed as an electrician and general contractor. He enjoyed working on small engines and spending time with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Edwin and Roger Miller, Sisters: Delores Johnson and Evelyn Baumhoven
