Eugene "Butch" Micek, age 69, died Friday, October 25, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Society in Osceola, Nebraska

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 28, 2019 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Duncan. Visitation is 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday with a 6:00 p.m. Vigil Service at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Visitation will continue Monday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. also at the church. Burial is in the St. Mary's -Pilsno Cemetery.

Eugene E. "Butch" Micek was born December 9, 1949 in Polk County, Nebraska to Jacob and Frances (Stachura) Micek-Kosiba. He married Dianne Warner on January 4, 1969 at St. Stanislaus Church in Duncan, Nebraska. To this union 4 sons were born: Brian, Aaron, Jacob and Steven. They have also been blessed with 12 grandchildren.

Butch worked for many years at Augustine Brothers, and then finished his cattle career with Sandy Creek Feed Yards alongside his friend, Robert Scow. Over the past years, as Butch lived out his retirement, he enjoyed making daily trips to Duncan to check on his buddy, Fred Shotkoski, and fill up his coffee cup at A.J.'s C-Store (where he caught up on all the latest gossip). He loved touring the countryside and stopping in for a visit with his sons and grandsons. Throughout the years, Butch and Dianne opened up their home to the grandkids and helped out their adult children by volunteering to babysit and keep watch over the grandchildren. Butch has enjoyed watching his grandsons develop a love for the cattle business and has especially loved watching Alex, Curtis and Kobe by helping them get their start caring for his calves and then some of their very own. He and Dianne also took great joy in taking all the grandkids fishing and picnicking along the channel. When he wasn't driving around checking on "the boys", he sure enjoyed sneaking off with Matka to the riverboats in Council Bluffs!
