Eugene "Hec" Imhoff, 89, of Columbus died Tuesday October 2 at the Columbus Manor. Funeral services are 1:00 pm on Friday October 5 at McKown Funeral Home with Rev. Don Owen officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8 pm at McKown Funeral Home and on Friday from 12 noon until service time. Burial will be in the Gruetli Cemetery in rural Monroe.
Eugene Imhoff was born on September 28, 1912 to William and Mary (Schneeberger) Imhoff in Duncan, NE. He was raised in Duncan and attended District 37 school. He farmed before going to work for Union Pacific Railroad. On December 28, 1968 he married Beulah Wolverton. He worked for the railroad for 31 years before retiring in 1974. He was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ and the Platte County Historical Society. He loved to travel, collecting postcards, and he liked to read.
