Ethel E. Schacher

Ethel died Thursday, July 1, 2010 at her home in Duncan.

Ethel E. Schacher was born May 28, 1917 on the family farm northwest of Monroe, Nebraska. She grew up in the Monroe area. Ethel married Erwin E. Schacher on September 11, 1937 in Shelby, Iowa. The couple lived on the Schacher home place for 2 years when they moved to Bartlett, Nebraska. They then moved south of Monroe and farmed in the Monroe and Duncan area until moving into Duncan in 1959. While living in Duncan Ethel was a cook at the Duncan Public School and then worked at Dale Electronics. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Methodist Women and the XYZ Club. Ethel enjoyed cooking, baking, yard work and gardening.
