Esther Murphy of Columbus died Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at David Place in David City.

Esther Josephine Murphy was born July 22, 1923 in Tarnov, NE to George and Mary (Sliva) Zoucha. She attended St. Michaels and St. Anthonys Grade School and St. Bonaventure High School. On August 20, 1944 she was united in marriage to John A. Murphy in Idaho. Esther and John were charter members of St. Isidore Church in Columbus. Esther raised her family and worked at Becton Dickinson for 22 years. She was a member of the Christian Mothers, VFW Auxiliary, BD Alumni Association, and NARFE. Esther loved to bowl, watch sports, and her flowers.

She is survived by:
Daughter Jacqueline (Lyle) Borer of Columbus
Daughter Mary (Dave) Swierczek of Columbus
Son Richard Murphy of Columbus
Daughter Peggy (Don) Braun of Columbus
11 Grandchildren
20 Great Grandchildren
Sister Jo Keller of Omaha

She is preceded in death by:
