Ernest "Ernie" Weverka

Ernest "Ernie" Weverka, age 86, died Saturday, July 10, 2021, in Columbus.

Funeral services are Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at 10:30 AM at McKown Funeral Home with Rev. Cindi Stewart officiating. Visitation is 4:00-6:00 PM Tuesday and 9:30-10:30 AM Wednesday, all at the funeral home. Burial is in Roselawn Cemetery.

Ernest R. Weverka was born February 24, 1935, to William and Agnes (Schnieder) Weverka in Sargent, Nebraska. He grew up and attended school in Burwell, Nebraska. Ernie moved to Columbus to work for Becton-Dickinson. He met Amanda Halterman and the couple got married. They continued to live in Columbus and raise their family. Ernie enjoyed working on old cars, gardening and spending time with his family.
